Statewide Zoom Call for Infancy Leaders
More than 30 infancy leaders from across the state participated in our Infancy Leadership Circle (ILC) Zoom call on Dec 5th, 2024. These calls are scheduled 4-5 times during the year to help accomplish the Committee goals to:
Connect infancy leaders and support cross-disciplinary collaboration
Share promising practices and learn about local success
Engage leaders in advocacy for improved public policy
During each call we have a feature presentation, announcements and comments from local ILCs and organizations, and get updates on what’s happening with the NYS budget and other legislative issues.

On our December call we also read a “Welcome Message” from new NYZTT Network Co-Presidents Martha Edwards and Margo Kaplan-Sanoff. We updated participants on the committee membership and goals.
The feature for December was a presentation by Maricela Ureno, MPH, who is the Program Coordinator for Community Outreach and Translation at the Columbia University Center for Children’s Environmental Health and Justice (CEHJ). She shared information about the Center and its research findings based upon a broad coalition called ECHO that studies the effects of environmental toxins on children’s health. For more information about their work, check out the CEHJ website. Maricela is also available to tailor educational sessions for the community.
As mentioned at our call, The Annual Child Care Advocacy Day is slated for Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
